Type of tourism research activities

The Research Institute for Leisure and Tourism (FIF) was founded in 1941. It is part of the faculty of Economics and Social Science of the University of Berne. The director of the Institute is aided by 4-5 assistants and a secretary. In addition to its teaching and research the FIF works permanently together with public authorities, private organizations, enterprises and with other interested partners.

There are six core competencies:

  • Quality Management
  • Experience Staging
